An evidence review
This paper reviews the impact of housing and the local environment on families and children in England. People, whatever their age, are affected by their environment. While some of the research in this area is patchy, the evidence clearly shows that living in housing that is overcrowded, or otherwise unfit, makes it more difficult to get on and function well as a family.
The paper suggests policy solutions to ensure housing is fit for families.
