Your use of this website to book places at the Family and Parenting Institute events, conferences and seminars (events) is governed by these terms and conditions as well as our privacy and cookie policy and other legal information.
Please read these documents carefully before using our site to make a booking. By making a booking you agree to the terms and conditions set out below.
How to make a booking using this website
1. Make sure you have read and understand our terms
It is your responsibility to read the legal terms on our website carefully and to raise any problems with us before you make your booking. This includes these terms and conditions, our privacy and cookie policy and legal information. Please save/print and retain these documents for future reference.2. Select the event you wish to attend
Select the event you wish to attend by clicking on the event heading. You will be shown further details of the event you have selected.Click on the "book event" button to book your place using our online booking facility.
3. Add delegates.
You will be asked to supply contact details of any attendees. Please first draw their attention to these event terms, our privacy and cookie policy and our legal information and make sure you have their permission before putting their details on the form. Unless you object when you book the event, we will use your details to send you further details of our events, publications and sector news, but we will not disclose your details to third parties. Unless the event is free of charge, you will be asked to add the price for each delegate you add.Early Bird discount.
Where offered there may be a discount for Early Bird bookings. Bookings at the discounted rate should be received prior to the cut off date to qualify.For the October 2009 conference - Policies for Families..Challenges and Choices – please book before the 01/09/2009 to receive your 10% discount.
The FPI offers three prices for booking at its paid events:
- Conference Rate: this is the standard conference price and is applicable for any individual that does not fit into either of our reduced rate tickets including Central Government and commercial organisations.
- Reduced Rate:for Public Sector organisations (local authorities, youth offending teams, PCTs, children's centres, other public sector organizations)
- Supported Rate: for schools, students, voluntary organizations and trade unions
4. Pay for your booking (if applicable)
Unless the event is free of charge, you will be asked how you would like to pay for your booking. You can either request a proforma invoice to send with a cheque, which we will send out to you, or pay online.If you have chosen to receive a proforma invoice, click "request payment by cheque".
If you have chosen to pay online, press "pay now" to be transferred to our payment provider Secure Trading) who will ask you for your credit/debit card details.
You will be asked to provide certain information we need to process your booking, such as your contact details.
All payments for bookings have to be received at least 5 working days before the event in order to guarantee a place or 30 days from the date of booking - whichever is sooner
Wait for confirmation of your booking
Once your order is complete, the booker will receive an email with confirmation of the booking. Please save or print and retain this confirmation for future reference. On receipt of our confirmation we will have made a binding legal contract with you. If you have paid online, you will receive an email from Secure Trading. This is a confirmation of payment and not our confirmation of your booking. Each delegate will also receive an email with details about the event.
5. Editing
To go back to a previous page, use the back button on your browser. To edit your details just click on the text you wish to change and re-type it. Some information (with asterisks *) is mandatory and must be completed so that we can process your booking. Other information you can decide whether or not to supply, such as your title, job title, fax and organisation. We would like this extra information to help us understand our audiences and improve our events, but we do not require it. You can also edit delegates by pressing the edit buttons during the process.6. Changes to the event
We may at any time make any changes to the event which are necessary to comply with any applicable safety or other statutory requirements, or which do not materially affect the nature or quality of the event.We may, due to reasons beyond our control, have to provide substitute speakers or make other changes to the event. We will, if practicable, notify you in advance of any changes to speakers but cannot guarantee to do so.
7. Changes to your booking
You may make changes to delegate names at any time without charge but we would appreciate it if you could give us at least five working day's notice before the event if you can.Please notify us of any dietary or access requirements you would like us to take into account.
8. Cancellations and transfers:
We hope that you won't need to cancel or transfer your place on this conference. However, should you need to, cancellations can only be accepted in writing 8 weeks prior to the event and will be refunded subject to a £35 administration fee. Cancellations received later cannot be refunded; however, name changes will be accepted up to 5 working days before the conference.9. Our rights to cancel the contract
We may cancel the contract between us if:We have insufficient places at the event to accommodate your booking; or we decide to cancel the event for any reason (including without limitation, reasons beyond our control, or due to lack of demand or the unavailability of any speaker or facilities).
Once we have notified you that we are cancelling your contract, we will reimburse any sum paid by you or on your behalf as soon as possible and in any event within 30 days of cancellation.
10. Ownership of rights
Unless otherwise stated, the property and any copyright or other intellectual property rights in any material presented or supplied by us in connection with the event shall belong to us, or our licensors.Except as permitted by law, you shall not be entitled to re-use or reproduce that material without the owner's written consent. You are not permitted to make recordings of our events without our written consent. No part of the slides or handout materials may be reproduced in any form without our written consent.
11. These terms
