what families really say
PARENTS' WEEK 2008 - FAMILY VOICE HAS LAUNCHED

Family Voice was launched on Monday 20 October with the support of parents from the Marion Richardson School in Stepney, East London.
Family Voice is an exciting new venture from the Family and Parenting Institute (FPI), taking the voice of families to policy makers, politicians and the media. We want to know what you think about the issues facing families today. You don't have to be a parent to have a Family Voice –anyone over the age of 18 and living in England with an interest in the issues that affect families can join for free. We want to hear your Family Voice.
Joining the panel is easy – just register here
You will be able to:
- Take part in opinion polls and get the results online
- Contribute to our blog spot and get regular e-newsletters
- Attend special events including regional events with politicians
- Receive free copies of family related FPI publications

Our first poll
In a recent snapshot survey, families told us that the policies they most wanted a say in were tax credits and benefits. (See our press release for more information about this survey).
We want to explore this further and have more understanding of what you think could be improved in the system. Please tell us your views so that we can reflect them when we talk to policymakers and politicians about families' concerns.
Please answer our three questions on our community board. You will see that the third question goes onto a discussion , so you can post replies to others comments as well as posting your own!
Our questions are:
1. Do you think the current benefits' system is an effective way to support families?
2. Do you think that the current tax credit system is an effective way to support working families?
3. What one thing would you do to make the tax credit and/or benefit system more effective?
Register now at Family Voice to have your say and help us shape policy. NB You will have to click on the link you receive by email to post your poll and/or message.
