Making the difference for families 2000-2010
Over the last ten years FPI has moved family issues to the top of the agenda, made the case for investing in families and built the foundations for a more family friendly society.

Help for families
Families told us they didn't know where to turn for help with everyday challenges or serious difficulties. We have made the case for evidence-based services. Now families can expect coordinated support delivered by trained practitioners who know what works.
Listening to families
Our Parents Panel has tested ways of listening to parents and we have spread the word about effective methods. Schools, Children's Centres and health services now ask families how services might be improved.
Early home learning
We tested ways of supporting families to help young children learn, and used the research evidence to improve practice and guide parents. We are spreading good practice across schools, Children's Centres and early years services.
Delivering innovative local solutions
We have supported 265 third sector organisations through the government's Parenting Fund to deliver parenting help to around 170,000 parents via 60,000 practitioners.
