European Commission proposals to amend the Pregnant Workers Directive – a consultation

Research into the impact of maternal return to work on children’s outcomes points to the need to promote support for children during the first year of a child’s life, in particular enabling parents to stay at home longer after the birth and offering part time flexible work.
