The ninth annual Parents' Week ran from Monday 20 October to Sunday 26 October and was the most successful yet, with over 440 events for parents, carers, children and practitioners taking place across the country.

You can find out about the range of events that took place by clicking on the Noticeboard. If you have photos of your events that you'd like us to see, please contact

The Week is

  • a celebration of the valuable work you do with families in all their shapes and sizes
  • a time to examine how you can be more effective
  • an opportunity for us to ensure that your work is recognised and valued and ensure that the issues affecting families today are kept at the top of the political agenda.

The two aims of this year's Week were:
1. to offer practitioners working with parents and families practical support to hold their own 'listening event' with families to evaluate their work
2. to showcase how practitioners are successfully supporting families across the country.

We hope that Parents' Week helped you to:

  • celebrate the achievements of your service over the last year
  • listen to what parents and families think of your service
  • invite new families in your area to visit you
