The Family and Parenting statistical service

The Family and Parenting Institute is the leading authority on families and parenting in the UK. We are pleased to offer a new service providing statistical information on all aspects of families and parenting to practitioners, government, private and voluntary institutions and the public.

We understand that not every organisation has the resources to access and analyse statistical information at the time it is needed, and this is where we can help. Our expert quantitative research team will produce high quality, user-friendly information and reports tailored to your research needs. We can help you:

  • Locate evidence for planning and decision-making
  • Investigate specific issues relevant to family life e.g.:

-work- life balance
-caring responsibilities
-family finances and lifestyles
-attitudes to aspects of family life

  • Analyse trends in family life
  • Dispel myths and support theories
  • Identify gaps in services and knowledge

Our statistical service will provide you with sound evidence when you need it. We offer:

  • Analysis of large, nationally representative data sets
  • Analysis of longitudinal data that follows children and families over time
  • Exploration of the relative impact of different factors on family life
  • Examination of differences between families (e.g. by region, ethnicity, age, social class, family size and type)
  • Cost-benefits and econometric analyses
  • Analysis of your own data, surveys, questionnaires, and outcome measures
  • Advice on planning your own research and data collection
